I have always loved maps, and, in September of 2018, I realized I love waterfalls, too. So it's natural that one would help inspire me to pursue another. After a few day-trips to some waterfalls around Turrialba - the town I had moved to in the middle of 2018 - I created a custom Google map to help me keep track of where I went. It wasn't until later that I realized I wanted to share this with others, and from that point I began to develop this collection.

All the info you find on this webpage comes from the trips I made to some of the points on this map. I picked ten of my favorites from the 27 total waterfalls that make up my map. These ten waterfalls got the special treatment. I've written these short pieces in the hopes that you, the reader (likely a Peace Corps Volunteer, but perhaps a friend of one) would be able to make your way to discover the same beauty that first called my attention.
Some of the posts on this blog include a crude rendering of directions using screen grabs from Google Maps. They are meant to offer you, the reader, a general understanding of how to arrive at the base of each respective waterfall. They are not meant to be used in place of GPS coordinates or satellite images.
To access the main map with all 27 waterfalls, click on or copy and paste the following link into your browser:
